Ok you are saying I have do discect each section and put on separate layers, hmmmm. Ok, I will look at it agin.

Yes!
Like, select inside the beak with the wand, (I like to grow my selections by 1 or 2 so they cover the black outline) then fill with white, on it's own "Beak" layer. You do the same for the body, eyes, feet and so on.

Molly, just select inside the lines of the section you want to color, grow by 1 or 2, fill with black (or some color), then run BRL with the selection in place. It will automatically create a new layer and move the original layer to the bottom. Just make the original layer visible and move on to the next selection to color. :bigthup

I colored the other outline you made. It was too big to work with using BRL so I made it much smaller.

Thanks, that is really cute. Do you happen to have that emap that you use for the white? I don't have any that light.

You can try this E-Map if you like.

After running the BRL I played with curves to make it look better.

Sure thing Molly. That's the same e-map that I use for the eyes and belly patch.

The map I used is a cream colored map that I shifted more white. It's named Wallace-Cream so Wallace might know where he posted it? If not, I can upload again. I need to add an option to discard the generated/loaded map so it doesn't keep creating/loading them when I don't need 'em.

I got that one, thanks Tux, I just thought maybe it was too dark but I could have used curves. He is my first one, a bit ragged but the next one will be better, I hope.

Nice job. I think you've got it. :2thup

Yeah, I think you can probably smooth it out a little by growing your selections & tweaking the curve depth/smoothing values.

You can also try and duplicate the body and any other layer except the outline, to help fill it in.

Yah, I am not too satisfied yet but I wanted to do the face over, too much black, so I used the lasso tool to make some white side panels beside the eyes, then duped it and flipped it horizontally. I didn't like the look of the pure black face.
Anyway, Thanks Wallace.

Anyway, Thanks Wallace.

Maybe making the eyes larger as well as the beak might break up some of that blackness. You could also try using a dark gray instead pure #000000 black.
Anyway, it shows a marked improvement in a very short time. I think you're on your way. :jumpclap

I like it Ella Louise but I think that busy background takes away from it... maybe a solid red BG with a few small flurries, just a suggestion. Nice job on the holly though, I had that one downloaded to do too and I'm not even in the mood for Christmas yet... :teeth
