I do not know why the brushsize setting in 2.8 doesn't work or of any workaround I can use as yet but I'm trying now

I use 2.8.10 and made this brush for just this purpose. It's not too big and it's not too small.

The brush bug is fixed in 2.8.14 other than that I cannot think of a workaround for this problem

Extrude from path has been updated to Rel2 to solve brush problem in gimp :hehe

Unless a fix is found for the brush-size problem in pre 2-8-14 releases
then they will remain excluded from using the brush and brush-size widgets, sorry I could find no other cure

Rel 2.1 has been upload see initial post or GimpScripts this version has a brush spacing setting output using this setting shown below

'O' to create a wave for your candy

1/ create a path on your image in a straight line
2/ go to paths decorate/periodic wave/sinewave (from ofnuts)
3/ run the script using a candy colored gradient (sorry I didn't have the right gradient)

sigh, can't get this to work on my mac. I had to rename my 1 px brush to match the call for the brush, and it goes through some stuff, then it crashes my mcgimp. darn.

What were you trying to do when it crashed? Sorry, I didn't go through the 12 pages of this thread.

2Ton what is your gimp version
why did you need to rename your default "1. Pixel" brush

if you download and instal a fresh copy of the script and do undo this [ I had to rename my 1 px brush] and load this xcf

then run the script with everything set to default you will get something similiar to the image below

Then with some changes to menu settings you will be able to create this from a text layer

I added the border later
