I've been playing with Gimp for a couple weeks. Things just don't seem to work.

I have watched tutorials. I have experience with Macromedia Fireworks. I thought I would be able to plug and chug, but it's not happening.

I apologize in advance for my simplistic questions. There will be many.

Have you checked out, Essential GIMP Tutorials? After you try a few of those come back with any questions about the specific areas that are giving you the most difficulty. With your previous experience using graphics software it shouldn't take too much to get you up to speed.

I've only joined Gimp Chat myself, having taught myself how to use the programme through trial and error. I just kept "playing" with the various features and reading a wide variety of tutorials. I'm certainly not up to par with most of the people on this site, but I enjoy mucking along anyway.
