Nice BRL image Gimper66.

Well now, with all the great tips in the video, managed to sort out how this all works...finally! (btw the vid makes for a very useful reference)

Found a ball..only gradients



...and this one HR spheres



Before the vid my thinking was that the gradients automatically ran from the Tools dialogue...when that wasn't happening thought something was broken. So then filled the white spaces with the gradients and ran BRL from the Bump filter...that works well also.
The only thing really broken here was me. Now, with the proper procedure and some practice...it's all coming together.

Thank you so much Wallace for your help to create BRL images. I did this one for my little granddaughter.
I'd like to know how to do that bevel was round not so angle, I mean that I must apply no right settings. Thank you Wallace.

I'm happy that you came away from the video with a bit more understanding of how BRL works.
It's one of the most incredible addition anyone can make to there Gimp. My hopes are, that in the future, BRL become a standard filter in any Gimp build.

I have been playing with Dinasset's woodcut carving effect script for the past few days but then I gave one of the outcomes from that process an additional BRL feature - put some wind in the sails of the opera house.

I try to make videos in plain language and leave out all the mumbo-jumbo. I'm not a pro at it, but I do enjoy making them.

Yes, the design and colors does give it a tribal feel.
It's harder to see the BRL effect on smaller images, but what I can see looks pretty good.

Tried something different on this one. Wanted cleaner stroked lines so thought if one could BRL the outline , that might clean it up some more and give it more texture. Did this by accident on another image and liked the results so took it further on a new image.This one was adjusted and BRL'd four times. Then tried to get the red to chrome up some using an HD Emap. It didn't quite work out as expected...didn't have the heart to delete it.
Found another technique that helps make smoother lines in and around the voids is to drop the white fill opacity to 40%-60%...get less bleeding (those little white dots were driving me crazy...lol). Here is an example...



see where the hearts all look horrible around the edges and the top areas look crisper around the cut line...will be redoing this one with the new outline...still have all the layers, want to see how most of them fit and redo the hearts, expecting to see an improvement.

Have had this template for some time, couldn't do much with it until now.

I find that using BRL as accents and text, can make a photo a lot more fun to use!

Great usage of BRL 2-ton!
I feel that this is what BRL is best at doing and your image demonstrates this exactly.
