Barbaric treatment... You can open the bottle with your bare hands, without spilling any wine or venting any meaningful amount of gas, and keeping the cork in hand. Loose sparkling wine corks are a sizeable part of all eye injuries.

Bottle still broke at the tip Wallace; if you ask me, it's still an epic fail (just not as bad as that news lady's result). lol

I'm thinking the tip is supposed to come off. I watched another video where the guy (barman?) took the top off using this method.

So you are suppose to break the tip; guess the whole bottle is expected to be used up then. lol

A corkscrew is the simpler way.
That way still breaks some of the glass off. Good find though.

Oops sorry, Shouldn't have mentioned it. I don't drink it so have never opened it.
