I'm a hobbyist artist, both digital and traditional, but mostly digital as of late due to convenience.

While I prefer to use open-source and freeware where I can, I have no ideologies that go against proprietary software, so I use those as well, but far less frequently. I personally like Paint Tool SAI. But its highly unlikely that I'll ever use PS for anything any time soon.

I have just about every version of Windows under the sun, but I prefer to use Linux as a preference. I'm a tinkerer, and like the way it can be customized. My primary Linux OS isn't actually installed on my computer, its a portable CD distro that works via a savefile.

I have 3.5 years experience with digital art. I've tried most digital painting apps going. I made mostly fan-art with Gimp in the past, but most of what I made for the first 2 years really isn't worth showcasing.

My personal favourite tool for digital painting is Mypaint. It's brush engine is more painterly than Gimp's. Gimp is still a very capable digital painting program in itself, and the new engine introduced in 2.8 took it to the next level, but painting isn't its primary purpose. So more often than not, I tend to use Gimp mostly for post-processing.

Currently, I'm working on a new painting using just Gimp, which I haven't done in about a year and a half.

I will mostly be sharing my pure Gimp 2.8 artwork on this forum.
