I purchased this one this past Tuesday. I'm finally getting the hang of this very powerful remote. I got tired of juggling my remotes and Radio Shack gave me a pretty good deal (since they are going backrupt). If it's cheap enough, I might even buy a spare (paid $61 and change for this one (was over $90) if the price is right now that Radio Shack is now discounting things up to 90%. I posted some more technical aspects at thread below. Very happy I am (yes; I'm a geek I suppose. lol).

I will miss Radio Shack. Those guys were pretty helpful when I would go in and tell them what I wanted to do, and they would show me what I needed and how to hook it all up. That's not going to happen at Walmart.

Maybe not Wallace, but it can execute sequences so I can transfer between by Cable and my Roku without having to kit a godzillian buttons. lolol

Having that many remotes looks so previous millennium I only have one, because my triple-play Internet connection comes via "la box" (sic.) and the "box" is really a modem/router/NAS box and a media player box (includes a BlueRay reader), and they can record things. So I don't need any other device than a TV (that doesn't even need to be connected to an antenna or cable). And cherry on the cake, thanks to HDMI-CEC the remote for the box also controls the TV.

Congrats on the new remote. I used to play that game. My last audio receiver had a programmable learning remote so it could handle anything.

These days, I have no need for any remotes. Everything flows though my PC, including HDTV with dual ATSC cards via MythTV, Netflix in Chrome and all other streaming via FIrefox/VLC. Music library on there too, using Musique. Convergence is here for me. I'm typing this post on the system right now from across the room, using my wireless, multimedia keyboard with a built-in pointer, which in essence, has become my remote.

Keyboard would be nice for Roku, but, I know I would knock it off my night stand next to my bed near daily Tux. lolol

Remotes good enough for me. As to Ofnuts, I no longer have to juggle all the devices either since the remote does that for me now. lol

Well, guess what? I don't have to use my Roku controller for my amplifier anymore; no longer need my cable receiver output either. RadioShack had 3 digital/optical to RCA output amplifiers (should have bought two of them) for just over $4 a piece. It works fantastic. Had to yet again re-program the Logitech remote but that's no big deal. Works like a charm and now just my amplifier controls volume. Tomorrow, my RadioShack store permanently closes. Very saddened I am, but I got a heck of a lot of deals recently; my brother (out of town) came and purchased a heck of a lot more then myself. lol

The shops disappear, but what they sell is available elsewhere. The web is a giant electronics shop.

The stereo amp/receiver that I still use is a Heathkit that I built years ago. Also have the old Allied amp I built, if anyone remembers back that far.

Never used their stuff myself, but I built a couple of small things for friends. Always preferred making my own stuff from the ground up. When my parents changed homes in 1999 my dad unearthed a regulated power supply I built in 74 and that had been running happily powering the house intercoms for a quarter of century.
