Hello,

I created my first GTK theme the other day for Linux. I'm trying to use it separately for Gimp 2.8, by copying it to the usr/share/gimp/themes directory. However, Only less than half of the GTK theme is applied. I need the GTK theme to apply to the whole interface.

I also intend to create icons that I'd like applied at a later time.

Another thing is the sliders. Is there any way to lessen their height, or return it to the old pre 2.8 ones?

Also, I want to make the theme universal, for Windows, Linux and Mac, if that's possible.

Which Linux are you using?

My recent experiments with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS suggest that whatever window manager it is now using, takes control of the menus and ignores the users themes (and doesn't use the menu icons either)

If you are using images to define the shape of tabs etc then Ubuntu seems to only come with the Murrine gtk engine, which isn't supplied by default with GIMP on Windows, so the idea of complex cross platform themes may be a non-starter unless you want to explain how to install the required engine.

Puppy Lighthouse 64, with many DE's and Window managers: KDE, XFCE, LXDE, Openbox, Icewm, Fluxbox and Pekwm. I primarily use LXDE with Fluxbox (instead of the default Openbox).

It's generally a flat, non-distracting ergonomic Windows 8-like pixmap GTK theme that I'm working on:

But for Gimp I want it to be a separate dark theme. I don't like dark themes on my desktop for general use, but for digital painting they are highly beneficial. There's about 5 images, but they are very basic. It still needs some work.
