Of bumps, blends & lighting effects

I started out trying to respond to Wallace and his silhouette images, but I got diverted (albeit accidentally) when I saw, then started to understand just what the 'lighting effects' function can generate. Said it before and will say it again, I am staggered by what GIMP can produce and I still have to explore GMIC yet ...

Not just for photos either - following are a combination of various pattern based inputs with GMIC Rodilius applied then finished off with lighting effect.

Very nice. I haven't explored the Lighting effects much. I will have to explore it a bit more.

my problem with playing around with gimp is that after I learn how to do something, if I don't do it constantly, then I forget how I did it!

So this time no Rodilius, no Truchet just plain patterns, some neat gradients and of course a bump with 'lighting effects' and we end up with igneous rock!
