A speedpaint done almost exclusively with a mixbrush in Krita, on the theme "a knife" for RAP03. Work time ... maybe 1.5 hours or so?

Who is the person and why are they there? Why indeed.

A very good representation of an ambiguous and menacing image. Well fitting for the knife prompt.
Considering it was done fast and the lighting it's dealing with I don't see how anything could be much improved unless you were to tighten or "polish" it but that would ruin the style itself so. It's all good! :D

griatch: beautiful and dramatic. the light treatment is awe-inspiring. i say just like moko, it's all good! i wish people had the guts to leave out faces more often and put characters in the dark like this or in burned out light - often makes for much more interesting pictures in my opinion.

I love it. The lighting and atmosphere are extremely good.

Agreed, polishing it further would make this in a very different style of image. Thanks for the comment. I wanted to convey something without going into something gory. :)

One's so used to spend time on the face that it actually feels a bit weird to leave it out. On the other hand, hinting at the 3D-topology of the face with minimal light like this helps one to appreciate the shape of the face in another way, so it's really pretty educational in itself. Glad you like the light!
