ludde: thank you ! i know, i know. it's fun to sit and experiment with stuff and then end up with something really nice but when someone asks you how you made it you can only say approximately how you did it. and i only approximately did the same things you suggested too - this is better than ordinary tutorials, if you ask me . here's my attempt at fire, i went crazy with adding layers and tweaking opacity and stuff, but i'm happy with the outcome. it's not as neat and organised as yours, but it's probably warm enough to grill a hot dog or three.
