I would really appreciate some help with a problem I am having with Gimp Gap.
I have been trying to replicate the spinning striped pole tutorial submitted here...

The problem I have is with map-object. The first and last cylinders are plotted correctly.
After the Video>Frame>Image command, the frames in between show all the interim frames are
just a striped square.
I can manually edit each frame, calculating the new co-ordinates, as you can see in the screen shot I have attached. So the problem is just map-object not doing the auto calculation on all the frames.
I have followed the instructions, repeated several times. No good. I have uninstalled Gimp 2.8 and Gap, and re-installed. No good.
Please can some one advise if the plugin map-object has a fault? or is this a classis result of me missing something crucial?
I followed a similar tutorial on Youtube, rotating a cube, just using Filter>map>mapobject to create the cube, and then Filter>All-Layers to access the map-object plugin. The same problem happened. That is, the first and last frames/layers were modifed by the plugin, the interim remained unchanged.
I would REALLY appreciate any advice someone could give me how to resolve this!

Yes, I'm afraid that the Frames Modify> Apply filter on layer(s) is currently "broken" for Map-object.

This problem was reported a little while ago (viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2255&start=30#p168988) and will be fixed in the next version of Gimp.

For a sufficiently narrow definition of "currently" (i.e. since May 14, 2015), the problem has been fixed.

To clarify further, there are three git branches of gimp-gap of particular interest: gap-2-6 which should be used with GIMP version 2.6, gap-2-8 which is for GIMP version 2.8 (and contains the bugfix as of May 14th), and gap-master which is for the development version of GIMP (it contains the bugfix but may be incompatible with GIMP 2.8).

Dragonz, if you are able to update your gimp-gap to the latest gap-2-8 from git, your problem should disappear.
