Not really about enhancement as about disenhancment. I've seen a lot of lomo photos with chromatic abberation. I've seen a lot of cgi with chromatic abberation (check out the icebergs/white mountains about half way into Game of Thrones' opening sequence and you'll see how subtly it is applied.) How do you induce chromatic abberation in Gimp?

The only way that I've found works for me is doing a zoom motion blur at about speed 5 and repeating incrementally for the different channels?

Image
(This is just a bunch of hexes extruded, duplicated, and scaled at random heights in blender with some processing in Gimp)

So what is the best way to induce chromatic abberation?

It looks nice, but truly said, it's a little bit painful to watch :"(

I think there's another way:
Make the Canvas larger, assuming you only have one layer, make that layer fit that new canvas size
Colors > Components > Decompose into RGB layers
Perspective tool on red layer
Same tool on blue layer
Make green layer into selection, crop using selection
Colors > Components > Compose, you might have to tell Gimp which layer is which color now that you've changed them
Crop further if you want to get rid of the blue and yellow tints outside of the main image.
You could also Decompose into other color models, if that looks better.
