I find your work interesting and the effects match all right with the photo. Imaginative too. to say something, I'd try remove the dark rectangle letting sky show as it is.

Removing the dark rectangle, yes I have to give it a try. Not easy because I have to extend the spiral-like effect.

I just thought the colors around him makes me think of fires of hell...
which made me think of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
