Having just recommended Extract foreground to someone, I have to confess to having a small problem with it!

Lately, when I use Extract foreground, it works perfectly - but on closing the interactive window I get an error message. Is this something I am doing wrong? As I said, the results appear perfect.

david.

What version of GMIC are you using?

I have tried 1.6.5.2 and get the same error messages.

It works fine with 1.6.5.1.

@happydays: At the top of the G'MIC window it says - G'MIC for GIMP 1.6.5.1[pre-release#062515] - Linux 32 bits

Under Release notes the last one listed is: 07/24/2015:version 1.6.5.2 (current pre-release).

I just tried it (for first time ever) and got the same fail message as you (latest stable + updates). However on first try I created no background points, only foreground, second try I created both types, and it worked flawlessly.

The MK-2 has been built. Should this be the next question?

I have done a few quick tests. The error only occurs when I select Output mode: RGBA foreground + background (2 layers).
This is the mode I use since it gives me the chance to correct any errors in selection by cloning in registered mode between foreground and background.

The other three output modes work without error messages.

Hello david,
Thanks for reporting, but I haven't succeeded reproducing the issue on my machine.
I use the filter with the default output (RGBA 2 layers), and this works.

I'd like to fix the bug if there is any, so any help would be appreciated to help me reproducing the bug :)
Thanks !

I have the same issue as david, which seems to have occurred recently.

When I close the interactive window I get the same error messages apart from the value in the 2nd message is “2” not “3”.

Clicking OK clears the message. The fg/bg layers are there.

I do not think I have used the 2 layers setting before, has it always been the default?

@Ronounours: I have tried with two other images. If I set the output to New layer(s) I get my original, a background layer and a foreground layer - no error message.

If I leave the output at its default setting I get a foreground and a background layer and when I click OK there is the error window as above.
The second error I have seen as having been called with values of 2, 3, and 12.

I cannot add anything to this unfortunately. However, if there are any tests you would like me to run in the next 24 hours (I go on holiday on Tuesday) just let me know.

Regards,
david.

Another volunteer for testing. Just post the need.
