Hi, here's a digital painting of one of the Dark Acolytes Of Mymosule from my digital comic project. For this I tried using Gimp's Free Select tool to limit the region that would be affected by the brush, I found it to be really useful - checkout the 'M' tattoo on his face.

Nice work. It reminds me a little of Tharg from 2000 AD.

artloader: great job! that character comes out as a strong personality and i think the huge facial tattoo worked well.

@Wallace: Thanks mate, yep, you'd have to be pretty sure you didn't want to remove it again!
@Erisian: Thanks, yeah I see what you mean, I reckon it may be the pony tail :).
@AnMal: Thanks, he's supposed to be an unsavoury sort of guy and before my discovery of Free Select, my edges would have been all over the place on that tattoo!
@Sallyanne: Thank you :).

Here's a different concept for this character, I reckon this guy looks a lot scarier than the last one. Any feedback would be appreciated - thanks.

I feel that his ears detract from his scariness.
He's a "Wing Nut".
:hehe

Pin his ears back.

Heheh - yeah his ears do make him look kind of cuddly - I was afraid he would be too scarey but maybe not then :).

artloader: i quite liked the "wing nut" look - made him look like a bit of a thug, though, and maybe that's not the idea? i liked the broader tattoo better, but this one looks a bit meaner somehow and i guess that's good on a meanie.

I love the leather jacket and the thinner M makes him look psycopathic and probably very cruel. I like it very much.

@AnMal: Thanks :). you're right, I guess thug wasn't quite what I was going for, I think Erisian is right - psychopathic.
@Erisian: Thanks, the leather jacket took a lot of observational work on my part but I guess that's one of the best ways to learn art.

Artloader - I remember seeing this guy in many places when I was much younger; not a thug but 'bouncer' comes to mind! Excellent rendition and yes the jacket is perfect for him.

Hey that's really cool Erisian :). A real gritty streetwise scene - nicely painted mate! And of course it is OK with me - I'm honoured - thank you.
