Hi, here's another character concept, her name is Umia Yulon and she is a steampunk girl from the forest nation of Suborea.

Quite nice, but her right breast looks a bit weird and the strap is sort of showing through (or is it the unfortunate alignment of a shadow)... The right hand is in a very unnatural position or she is missing a thumb (the wrist is much too close to the hip if she is pinching her hip). Good job on the hair.

@Ofnuts: Valuable feedback thanks. You are spot on with both points, my edge control was a bit poor around her right breast (I should not have used a pressure-opacity brush when blocking-in colours) and Umia has wider hips than the reference photo I used - I neglected to reposition her arm properly!

Hey thanks for the kinds words Erisian, in the past I used to try and learn by myself through trial and error but just recently I have been following the teachings of artists a great deal more skilled than myself. It's a more efficient method of learning I guess.

Thanks Lylejk :). Asami Sato looks nice - and The Legend Of Korra looks really good, I will have to look into it further.
