The names are really misnomers as, despite their close grains, neither is oak or ash; actually both timbers are eucalypts.

I think we need a dark Aussie furniture timber too, so here, from the tip of south western Australia is a Jarrah emap ...

Here's the leather E-Map I've been working on.
I'm not sure if it works that well in all situations, but it worked on this type and size of text.
It may work really well on smaller text or shapes,
but that has yet to be determined.

The leather map is cool Wallace. You're right, even the wood emaps work better with certain fonts. Personally, I think a wood and leather pattern overlay would work better. Then it wouldn't look stretched out in certain areas.

I agree.
Maybe if one runs a grayish/white e-map in BRL on some text.
Then an overlay of wood or leather texture.
Might look pretty good.
Haven't tried this out myself yet though.
