Toying with using GIMP's mosaic filter and layer property blends, then some G'MIC tricks. Yet another wip. lol

Lyle, that is very close to real scales, the only thing now is give the right colour but that depends on user's taste. :) :coolthup :paint

Just wish I wasn't so cheap. I would purchase Alien Skin's Eye Candy filter. There reptile texture application filter will drop your jaw. Click link below and scroll down. :)
