Two things, Mackenzieh:
1-the line where you get the error is the only one where the modLCS filter is called, therefore if you set "Stretch Colours to False you do not get anyway the error; hence, why shouldn't be an option?
Apart from that, there are input images where LCS is already well balanced, so you can omit it
2-if you get the error it means that the plug-in DIEGO_COLOURS_Mod_LCS.7z has not been appropriately unzipped and placed under an accessible user plug-ins folder
Hope you can run it fine.
Happy New Year!

In my opinion the stretch colors option shouldn't be given the "Yes" option because that's where the error lies. The stretch colors option should always be set to "No" in order to not have that error. Other than that, the plugin works.

Yes Dinasset, They’re unzipped and in the right place.

could you take a snapshot of your folder
C:/Users/Kimba/.gimp-2.8

In the case (I don't know) you do not have gimp 2.8 but another version you are obliged to change the references in the parameters (which you can also do after having placed the folders wherever you like)

One more issue and one more request. The issue first. You disabled history but forgot to re-enable it (meaning any additional things one would do cannot go back).

As for request. Since you re-sized anyway, maybe an option to not downsize back at the end (leave result at high-rez).

Again, thanks a heap for this cool new python plugin Diego (assuming the D in Dinasset means Diego; if not, my apologies). :)

Lyle, I added the command to re-enable history, here the mod version.
About your request on re-sizing, I have some doubts:
1-the image is re-scaled to work with an appropriate image size when applying the filter; sometimes the image is upscaled, sometimes it's downscaled (the original can be smaller or larger than the standard size I use)
2-maybe I can work on preparing a version which creates a new image instead of modifying the original, thus leavin the outcome with the std size.

Enjoying this wonderful "Crystallize an image" I did another try in Black and White in 8 colours and removed the background of the roses. :)
Thank you Dinasset. :tyspin

do you mean that the user of the filter will not install the ancillary plug-in?
if it is installed you do not get the error!
why don't you want to install it?

BTW: HAPPY NEW YEAR in California!

@Mackenzieh:
to complete my thoughts:
a) 8 (if not 9) out of 10 of those users who want to use the Crystallize filter will install also the ancillary plug-in ModLCS, as recommended
b) my default options in a filter are normally set to the most probable use: if I set it to False, then the majority of the users have to change it to True when running it (see post #18 by Rod "Way cooler output using the Python LCS filter! )

I use Windows 7 64 bit and I placed everything where it should be. I have to change it to No when running it or else I get the error. That's what I'm trying to get you to understand.

The error lies here - pdb.python_fu_mod_LCS
You have to make sure that other python file "DIEGO_COLOURS_Mod_LCS.py" is in your plug-ins folder Mackenzieh.
It will work fine as long as both py modules are installed into your plug-ins folder.

fine, time is OK.
Well, also the image is important (how many different areas and how big).
if I remember correctly, also on my PC sometimes it took only 1-2 min during the tests with 20 colours (default).
Thanks for the info, Rod, and for your nice comments about the filter.

if the ancillary plug-in is "where it should be" it should appear also looking into Help/Plug-in browser; if not....

Issabella - you have posted many very attractive results already, well done!

I am busy for a couple of days with 'house maintenace' as we have some heavy rain forecast for 3 days. So once I have finished the repairs I will have a play with Dinassets scripts!

Sorry to hear that you are going through this mess, OMG. We did have a small section of road wash out in my home town, as well as some localized flooding, but no where near what those that live by the Mississippi as well as Texas has experienced. Hearts out to you folk and hope you all get through this soon.
