Location was not photogenic but photos proved to be extremely well because the they ended well in this panorama. Hand-held camera with broken TFT captured these photographs in haste lest I should miss the bus.
Gimp tools used:
Gradients hide the contrast difference defect among photos.
Polar Coordinate filter makes a circle from panorama.
Curves create background blue circles.
Offset tool for the tutorial photos.

If you want to know of a great tool for panoramas in SCM form try the Pan to Bow filter for GIMP.

It works a bit better than the polar coordinates filter in my belief.

I find that the best programme for stitching panoramas is Hugin (free, open-source). It can compensate for differences in exposure between the separate frames.
When I have stitched a panorama using Hugin, I then pull it into Gimp to make any overall adjustments, etc.
