I can relate.

I guess that means I'm old since I had a boombox (bought while in AIT (after Basic Training) and also used a rotary phone for years (Dad was too cheap to pay the extra fee for tone dialing; once he found out that they no longer charged extra for tone dialing, we finally got it. lolol). Even played many phonos when I was a kid (Dad had a reasonable collection of good records). I didn't need to be reminded that I was old. lolol

Many of us here had the (pre-boombox) new fancy techie transistor radios! And not only rotary phones, but party lines, too! I remember we had a dial lock on our phone so my sister wouldn't make long distance calls to her friends, but we learned how to dial by quickly pushing the little buttons in the cradle where you hang up the phone.

Yup; pulse dial work around. Use to to tap the handset cradle to dial for fun too. lolololol

I wonder if you can still pulse dial or not; haven't had a phone that had that feature for a long time now. I suppose I could try by tapping the off hook button (equivalent to the handset cradle back in the day). lol

I still have my old dynamite detonator 8 track player, haha. Still works too:

AHHHHHhhhhhh..... 8 tracks ....

Still have a couple VCR 8 track tape players at my house also. And about 500 VCR movie tapes.

That's a heck of a lot of Movies and/or recorded TV episodes, Rod. lololol
