Thanks all. To Pat, I did modify my flow a bit in that I don't stroke for the dots anymore. I toggle the selection mask, and, with a white brush, stroke it, un-toggle, and fill the resulting selection with black. I then run G'MIC's b/s>dithering to get a cleaner dot. Otherwise, the same flow as before (well, used the original and set to overlay as well as textured it with one of my textures).
