This seems to be a simple design, so I'll try making the hexagon version. Hope I can find the glass marble in the appropriate size. If not, I'll try using some plumbing rubber gaskets to seat a smaller glass marble.

Yes, a virtual equivalent would be equally cool. I'm interested in seeing what a real one would do with the camera, since I have all the equipment needed to make one, minus the glass marble. I'll go shopping for the glass marble tomorrow afternoon.

First place i would look is a crafts store.

Still, it would be cool to take the output from the real kaleidoscope and then make the result seamless (hence my reference to PC). I've always been fancinated with kaleidoscopes and that's probably why I really like PCs textures since a lot of his do remind me of a kaleidoscope (well his result's on steroids of course).

I stuck my phone camera lens down into a kaleidoscope and got a really cool pic. it looks like a stained glass window in a church. I would post it but it's on my phone and not on my computer.

I remember folk creating free pic phone accounts so that the pics can be shared. Not sure if you are able to do this 2-ton. Also, maybe if you can email the file from your phone to your PC, but even that may not be possible. Just passing on some ideas.

Looks cool 2-ton; hope you don't mind a seamless manipulation of your result. PC could do better (creating the seamless texture that is).

I'd like to give that a try, but I need a kaleidescope first. (I didn't even know what one was after researching it, seeing this topic)

That is the best kaleidoscope plugin i know-
It has only a defect doesn't remember the last setting used

I have a clear idea on how emulate it but the problem is that even if simple even if i tried several times seems i always fail to explain... i'm feel really frustrated for this

If you are interested i may try again, but i don't think is adapt for script fu or python, because i believe that for Kaleidoscope filter a good preview is strictly needed
