to get what you very probably like....

you need to:
1-create a new layer from visible
2-rescale the original to the output size
3-copy it on top
4-set mode to lighten only

- New from visible
- Scaled the original layer to outcome
- Placed the layer under the new from visible
- The top one >> overlay

Still a bit red but the mosaic is better … I think :roll:

yes, overlay takes colours from the layer below, to have the light colors use lighten-only

Yes dinasset it's perfect now :yes

You can see the mosaic clearly and the colors are bright :coolthup

Then, from now on, make your tests with this special edition I attach here.
If everything goes well, I will ask Rod to release it as v.1.1
Remember to set Yes to the option "Restore original colours" if you want to get this new kind of outcomes, otherwise it behaves as the standard version.

Thus I ask Rod to publish it officially as an update (i.e. same name of the original currently available, not "special edition": once published, downloaded, installed it will replace the existing copy in your folder).

you may download/install/test this special edition as long as the official version is not published; afterwards, the official version will replace the initial one on GIMP Scripts & Plugins and the "special edition" will be removed.

Dinasset: I really love the new version. Keeping the original colors really makes this a wonderful mosaic.
Ella: Love all your images, esp. the butterflies (have always loved butterflies and yours are beautiful!).
Issabella: Your images are always well chosen and beautiful!
