ImageShack has apparently updated their plans and now the minimum plan is over $37/year. Freaking ridiculous. I do have over 10,000 images (no joke; did a lot of renders in the 10 or more years since I started using them to host them) that I will now loose in the ether unfortunately. Oh well. Maybe they might keep the link to them despite me not using them anymore since I refuse to spend more than $22/year for such a service. Anyway, anyone know of a free and good image host site that I can start using (and I'm not talking about Flickr; like to host some of my renders with a bit less public exposure if you know what I mean)? :)

Sorry to hear about this.
What a bummer that is.
It's all about the money these days.
The only online service I use is DropBox. Don't think they could accommodate you the same way ImageShack was.

Yeah; have both a Box account and OneDrive account and I would not use them to host my images for sharing online. I know folks here in the past mentioned a few like majhost but for some reason, I can't get to that site at the moment (they may indeed be out of business). I can play tricks and use sites such as justpasteit, but that still would make my links way too public for my tastes. Oh well. I'll do some more searching and see if I can find me a site that's decent (and preferably free). :)

Good luck Lyle.
I'm sure ImageShack is going to lose a lot of accounts due to this.

OK; trying Postimage (http://postimg.org/) to see how they are. Below's a test. :)

Just posted my first image (elsewhere) and man does that image load fast. I had to re-check since the Shack never loaded images that fast (used another sandbox so no cache cheating). Pretty happy with finding this cool host site. Hopefully it will stay free but I do see a premium button on the site (not activated yet, but it's there). lol

:)

I use 23: http://www.23hq.com/ which is claiming to allow 1000 uploads per month on the free plan (It used to be 30) and unlimited for a small fee.

I'm not sure how secretive you can be though...
This is loaded as Private:

Edit: Which apparently means only I can see it when I'm logged-in

Looks like a great host site too. 1000 images/month is beyond what I need. Will keep your site in mind since it appears to have a much better organization interface; even better than ImageShack. Post Image; not so much. lol

As Diego said, some impressive work on your host home site; thanks for the info, Kevin. :)

I use photobucket. You can lock folders with or without a password and take it off whenever you want to.
