Got this image from the site Lyle has been using. Pixabay. Great site! Thanks, Lyle. Used levels for the sky and bumpmap for the mansion.

Awesome! I feel like I would like to "hide" a ghostly figure somewhere like those supposedly real ghost photos.

Yes, it's a great old house, isn't it? Excellent textures. Every old house has to have it's ghosts....

Sallyanne, I keep looking at your image and I can't figure out what filter you used to bring out the texture so good.

Actually I never thought of using bumpmap like you did in your first one.
I used a couple filters in G'MIC after playing with the saturation levels and contrast etc.
Main filters I used in G'MIC were texture enhance and mighty details. Both under 'details'

I've never really used G'MIC. I'm going to have to get in there and poke around. The thing I like best about what you've achieved, is how the already cool stonework in the building really looks like a surface you could destroy your fingernails on trying to climb. And I guess the best part is with the enhanced texture, it gives the bricks depth. They also look like gritty sandstone.

This is a bunch of fun.

You will enjoy playing with the filters in G'MIC
