I saw a pair of beautiful cardinals in my maple tree this morning, one was bright red and the other yellow, orange and a bit of red.

True and by the time you get the camera out and zoomed in, the birds fly away, grrrr

Birds are very good at spotting that you are interested by them, which make them flee. If you act very casual, they may stay a bit longer and you can shoot them by surprise (but you need a camera with a fast zoom and focus).

It is somewhat easier if you have the sun in your back because they have a blind zone and don't really see you coming:

I have a little pair of cardinals that visit and sing. What a breath of fresh, clean air and good inspiration ofnuts.

Are you able to get close enough to them to take their picture Dalia? I doublt if I will be able, they don't stay in the tree long enough... grrrr :teeth

molly, I've got one that I took with my phone (through a screen :oops:

) of the male and another surprise visitor. I have Sandhill Cranes that often announce their arrival as well but don't have a pic - there's a video someplace.
