Desk Lamp Project

I purchased this lamp and thought I would try to recreate it using Gimp.
I spent a few weeks, on and off slowly working on it and here it is.

Here's the picture of it,
that I used for reference.

Yes, the springs were the most tricky to render.
I have to thank Ofunts for his path-inbetweener script,
which was the key to making the springs.

Well Done.

Place it on something and it will 99.99% original copy.
Springs should be slightly more opaque.

Definitely it is a time consuming and painstaking work.

I did considered creating a suitable environment to place the lamp into.
It was an exhausting image to recreate and I was becoming impatient.
So I decided to posted it as is.

You're right AnMal.
I have come a long way here on GC.
However,
I must give credit to all our great Gimp Chat member.
Without their support.
My Gimping would not be were it is today.
I'm truly grateful for stumbling upon GC when I did.

Wallace, I saw your post like at 2AM off of my phone. I read your post then saw the first image - I thought THAT was the lamp! When I scrolled down and saw the actual lamp, I was blown away.

I don't mean to hurt your feelings about your purchased lamp, but I love your "designed" desk lamp.

to someone viewing it using a phone.
I guess a smaller image of the lamp,
must look even more convencing.

with a black environment map for all the metal parts.
