@Issabella

That's a quite abstract outcome you have there. The dark colors gives the scene a bit of a melancholy feeling to the image I think. Nice!

@Mokonafan

I looked at your making-of video, I like the use of the perspective tools here and the details you have put into the bricks of the floor and the flagstones of the floor. By comparison to those the candles look very organic. I think this is one of the more dramatic uses of light I've seen you do, and maybe one of the darkest images I've seen too. Doing concepts not done before is one of the main points of this, good job.

@oldmangrumpy

Very dramatic! At first I was wondering if we are looking at the top of a mountain shrouded in sun-baked mist. But I think I'm now more leaning towards it being a magical flying temple. Nice touch with the Sun hinting through the pillars, it helps anchor the source of the counter-light for the darkened temple as well as establishes the source for the redness of the clouds around it.

Looks like I come to the party too late. Found a picture and ran a few G'MIC filters on it.

Another late entry - looking behind the ruins and why ...

By the way I have nothing against monasteries; my son lives in a Buddhist Monastery.

A good choice, old stone does seem to come out nicely with this type of filter!

I like the smooth feeling of the plants hanging from the trees, makes me think of cob webs. :)

That's pretty grim! It's cool how the skull doesn't have empty eye sockets but actually glares at us. The eyes also make him (it?) look a little bit more devious. Interesting touch with the green diagonal lines (triangle towards its eyes) they connect the image a little with the stark green border.

Found this rather odd image, and I felt it met the challenge in a bizarre sort of way...

**NOTE: The original image wasn't all blurred like that. I did that bit...

It wasn't that windy yesterday morning, but there was enough breeze for half a flag:

Lot's of creative interpretations of the theme already!

This is very cool and dynamic. And fitting the theme!

With wind of that magnitude there is indeed not much to do but to go just where the wind blows. :)

This is psychodelic but actually very interesting. It would work very well as an image for an article on smoking, even as an anti-smoking image! It looks like Jack Nicholson, is that him?

Hah, that must be either a very old flag or some pretty nasty bursts of wind! Again a picture which would work well to illustrate some article on some Brittish scandal. :) And very fitting the theme!

Here's my entry for this week, called "Ruined Mood". It fits the theme since I didn't have any plan when I started it. I just doodled and followed the flow (like a leaf in the wind ...) ;)

Fun to do a more sketchy style too, all done with the charcoal brush in MyPaint, with cropping and final adjustment in GIMP.

Yes, actually. I didn't seek it out, though. It came up in a search for one of those old fashioned clouds creating the wind by blowing. I was going to do something with that, but this was more interesting.

What does it say about a person that that blurred mess was recognizable as Jack Nicholson?

That particular expression with the eyes is very Nicholson-esque. In a way you might see your piece as a sort of caricature of him, where the expression (the "Nicholson-ness") is exaggerated even though you are moving away in "realism". Or something like that. :)
