I have no idea what goes on here, but clearly the jester is ruining what would otherwise be a serious mood. Always fun to combine one of my most serious characters with my least serious one. :)

"The unknown girl" from Where Red Apples Lie and the Jester from ... all over the place. I did this based on the "Where the wind blows" Random Art Prompt - I had no idea how this image would turn out when I started but just went with it, which I think reflects the theme pretty well.

Fun playing with a more hand-made style too! Done in MyPaint using the charcoal brush, with final adjustments in GIMP. Comments and feedback welcome as always.

Haha I like that sketchy effect! The best part is you can't make a mistake because sketches aren't supposed to be perfect, so even if it's an actual drawing you get away with everything!! :lol
Really cute idea. Reminds me a little like some anime (concept wise) that one crazy happy character always annoying the super serious character. xD

Using the lined paper as a background fits this really good actually.
Nice work! :3

Great movement and feeling in this...it's almost more realistic than a finished art piece that has gotten stiff in the perfection.

It's a surprising amount of work to make something that looks this sketchy. :) Glad you like it!

This is what I like about this style too - movement and characterization tends to work better. I keep thinking I should do more stuff in similar styles it's fun to do.

Oh, I know! I've done "sketchy" stuff on purpose, and tried to draw like a child on purpose. That was actually harder than trying to make something decent. :lol

Had to laugh at the jester's cheeky attitude to the other person. Like their trying to 'pull them out of it'.

Very nice Griatch :). I like the way this looks like it was done traditionally with pencils and paper! Also the way you've done the highlights by letting the paper show through works well.

Yeah, she does her best to pull her out of it indeed! :)

Thanks, yes it's a nice way of working, also quite liberating. Of course, when working with charcoal or pastels on paper one doesn't have the possibility of perfect erasure, so letting the "paper show through" is a bit easier on the computer. :)
