(click for DA version for more info and more images of the Jester)

Heh, can't have too much of the Jester, eh?

This was inspired by a challenge over at DeviousDeadlines on DA, which this week has the theme "Personality". Say what you will about my Jester girl, but she sure does have a personality ... :)

Tested a different style with this one; less saturated and with black outlines. Having tried a bunch of other variations and backgrounds, this simpler style was the one I liked the best.

GIMP + MyPaint, a Sunday afternoon.

Comments and feedback are welcome as always! :)

Excellent portrayal of an impish, fun-loving, and playful personality! The puppet seems to mirror the same personality, too!

Very well done. The right hand looks kind of weird, imo though

Who couldn't love a happy, cheery face like that? Adorable!

Thanks for the comments! I like drawing her, she makes me smile too. The blac-outline style fit well for making things stand out, as it were. My images are usually much darker and with higher contrast than this.

@mikethedj4:
The hand is extremely fore-shortened so it looks a bit unusual from the beginning. I have tweaked it a bit to make the anatomy clearer. Hopefully better now.

Yep it's better.

You should try using your painting skills to make a web layout. Not only will it be different, it'd be unique, and maybe a challenge for you (key word maybe). Plus that'd be something I'd really love to see.

Well, it's infinitely better than I or anybody I know could.

Thanks. :)

It's indeed a very different thing to design websites compared to images, and a very different challenge. I actually once designed a website as part of a job offer. It was an interesting challenge, but one really notices the differences in skill sets. In the end it was a bit too different from what they had in mind actually, hehe.

I love the painting her face does look very real and well she does make a person smile. Lots of love and fun there we need more of that in this world. :)

I'd just like to see it happen, I think it'd come out dope as hell, with you being a painter.
