My Gmic does not have
File "c:\Users\Peter\.gimp-2.8\Diego\DIEGO_QUANTIZE_TexturizeByAreaByColour.py", line 686, in TexturizeByAreaByColour
"-v - -gimp_light_leaks 32,0,1,1,0,1,9,0,0")
RuntimeError: calling error

What now?

EDIT: strange Light leaks visible in the Gmic UI ???

in any case I suggest you to download/use the "TexturizeByAreaByColour", more recent (but it still makes use of (G'MIC) light_leaks

My Gmic is 1.7.5 and has Light Leaks
and using TexturizeByAreaByColour.py

Maybe my Parameter choices have the error as side-effect?

Please give me a list of choices which should work, have worked?

Peter

EDIT:
Confirmed by tests: it is Parameter dependant!
Using Pine (Filter for Names) the plugin works (changed no other values)

set "Move BG on top?" to False, G'MIC Light Leaks will not be used

OK, seems to work (totally) :) , the names of gradient resp. pattern MUST be correct!
Maybe a working default if something was not ok?

back home
glad you got it
about the default, I can think about, even if standard patterns/gradients (i.e. common to all gimp users) are not so good for the filter, anyhow...

I've never seen that error (yet)... What was your gradient search when you received it?
When Gmic is installed, lightleaks images are not loaded during the install.
I know this because I have no internet connection on my home computer.
You must have an active internet connection when running lightleaks and the image
that you request (number 32 in this case) is downloaded.
Perhaps the load of the lightleaks image was slow or interrupted.
I believe that when running lighleaks it only downloads the requested image.
There were 71 different images at the time I downloaded them and transferred them
via usb flash drive to my home computer.
For test, open an image in Gimp and run lightleaks from GMIC.
Then change the lightleak number while watching the preview.
If any download lag time or error it will show in the preview window.

Thank you Dinasset! It was worth waking up today!

Here is a try with a wavy texture
and just enough nuances.

And also a canvas texture.
I think later I will try the emboss to discover
some surface texture.
