GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Mac OS
OS Version: 10.10.5
GIMP Experience: Experienced User


So here's the deal I want to replace the white background (which is either #fff or #fcfcfc) with the color #eceeef.

I'm running on a new Mac and still haven't figured out how to install GAP. Is there a script to do this that doesn't include GAP?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can use the script sg-combine-bg by saulgoode.
What it does is combine each layer of the image with a copy of the background layer.
Of course you would need to have all layers transparent,
in order for this to be effective.

I looked at your attached .gif
and it Opened in GIMP and it already shows up as Indexed (Image->Mode->Indexed is already ticked).
All you have to do is click on menu Windows->Dockable Dialogs->Colormap
Double click on the last color and change it to any color you like.
And you're done.
Here it is changed.
