How I made Vikings sketchThis kind of sketch is inspired by
MixArt sketch painting, an action for Photoshop
step 1Open the image
Duplicate it and name it as
top colour modestep 2Apply
G'mic Freaky B&W as New layer(s) in output mode; use
default valuesstep3Duplicate this G'mic output layer and apply
Invert (Colour) and Erode (Generic), then set this layer in
dodge blend mode.
step 4Now, create a new layer as
New from visible layer, set it in
Multiply mode and apply
Levels (slice to right). You must get a sketch lines layer.
step 5Create a
new layer and
fill it with any kind of rusted paper pattern. I used this one. Set the layer in
colour blend mode.
step 6Place the named
top colour mode layer on the top of the layers slack and set it in
grain merge blend mode and opacity around 80%step 7To finish: add a
transparent layer mask to top colour mode layer, paint as you like over the warriors and other details that you want to show. Watercolour and soft brushes were employed for this work.
