Looking for a look-alike font

This text comes for a steel plate on old (1950's) farm equipment. Does any of you know a modern font close to that?

I reckon the font is likely quite older (farmers aren't that much avant-garde).

It reminds me of an older type circus font.
Maybe Gypsy?

Might be an ethnic French font... the more I look at it, the more I think I have seen it on other old French stuff... and the serifs on the C/L/T remind me of my grandfather's handwriting...

The plate appears to be etched, maybe the font corresponds to some requirement for his process?

The more i look at it the more it looks like bones.

@ ofnuts...I typed the word into my search engine (curiosity) and it came up being french. Do you know the name brand of the cultivator? It could well be a french made piece of machinery or maybe just written in the language to be sold to french speaking peoples.

Edit: Actually they look very similiar to a brass stencil set my grandmother had and now I do. I think it is buried in my stuff. LOL I may look if I don't find anything on the internet.

back again: I found this site looks like the font type used comes under the Wild West types or similiar to them. http://www.fontspace.com/category/wild+west

Given that I'm French and that the plate is the brand of my wife's grandfather I agree with your conclusions

The closest one is Movieola. Too bad there is no "straight" version..

There is an X elsewhere on the plate, it really looks like a pirate symbol

Not likely... these are the plates he would nail to fruit cases to have them returned, according to my brother-in-law (who found the plate buried in the dirt in a barn).

Of course, I'm now spending a lot of time converting that picture to a set Gimp paths to blow it up for T-shirt prints and the like. Quite labor intensive (15 minutes/letter, around 50 letter total in the plate) but rather pleasing once you get the hang of it. These Bezier curves are a very clever invention.
