I have an image with a transparency gradient a png image, that I want to copy as a layer onto another png, but when I copy it, the gradient disappears, which went from white to transparent. Instead there is just an abrupt line where the white stops instead of the gradient, altering the image and making the attempt at transferring it as a layer unsuccessful. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I delete this post?
I had to create a new image with a transparent background as the other png wouldn't accept the transparency layer of the other one... its working fine now, I just have to use the other images as layers on a new png ... then it works fine...

btw do you know GMIC? There is a verbose console option in the GMIC plugin so you can get to see the GMIC commands executed in consule to make a batch script with later (yes BATCH for multiple files). Anywasy, isn't there a way to get GIMP to also spit out the script version of your GUI actions in terminal? That is key to my success here!
