I have also posted the same problem even with the vesion 16 and after many attempts I gave it up.

If you could attach the font you tried and what text you were trying generate i could run it on mine and see if i run into similar problems..

All versions removed and reinstalled version 16. Still getting errors and I don't know why.

the .xcf and the .scm and let me know what text you were trying to generate?

Yes and also please take a snapshot of the Custom_Font.scm Script-Fu dialog window and values on the widget that you have entered. I am curious about something.

The version of custom_font.scm that I am using is version 16, as seen here.

In this image, I used Gimpchat test.xcf, but I have also tried with Flags_Trebuchet MS Bold.xcf, purple polygon font.xcf, OLWF all letters all.xcf, Blue Metallic Font.xcf, RodsSteamPunk.xcf, PipeDream.xcf, googlemapfont.xcf stitch_font.xcf, RGBSpheres.xcf and PipeDream.xcf. I'm using Gimp 2.8.18 with the default settings on the
app, on a Windows 7 Professional machine [version 6.1(build 7600)]

i have GIMP 2.8.16 though....
so i don't know if that's what is break the script or not.

Edit: I see GIMP 2.8.20 is out, i'll try it with that GIMP and see if this error happens for me.

Edit: It runs fine in 2.8.20 too.
So i don't know what the problem is.

Looks like it's failing on make-string for some reason...
Photomaster,
wanna try something for me?
Go to Filters -> Script-Fu -> Console
Enter

Code: Select all

(define charList 0)

Then
Enter

Code: Select all

(set! charList (map (lambda (x) (make-string 1 x)) (string->list "abcdef")))

see if it runs...
that's essentially what the script is failing

I was going to suggest temporarily removing all scm files except the custom_font.scm and see if that works.

This is what I got to running the script commands. I am going to try the removing scripts idea.

I removed all the scripts from C:\Users\PhotoMaster\.gimp-2.8\scripts and from C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\2.0\scripts
leaving only custom_font.scm and I got this error message.

just try removing script from
C:\Users\PhotoMaster\.gimp-2.8\scripts

Not from
C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\2.0\scripts
because those need to come with GIMP.

Now it's complaining about basic functions, not good.
