Very nice, Gimper. Tree and mountain reflections are so realistic!

Reflections are very "sophisticated", indeed; congrats, Gimper!

This is a great wooden roses party, Gimper. Thank you so much for sharing your method to do such beautiful images. I like the results a lot. :clap :tyspin

Was there a tutorial on how to do the wooden flowers? I missed it! Please, where do I find it?

@Gimper @Issabella
I know that it's very difficult, but when applying wood texture to a non-flat and complex object it would be necessary to let the wood trying to look somehow 3D and not to span with the same texture over the whole complex object: look at the dark lines in the wood texture which are exactly at the same height on all the petals, and this "hurts" the observer and qualifies the outcome as "unreal".
Sorry...
(I guess that Rich said something similar on Gimp-Forum)

Much better, Gimper!
If you have written a tut (or plan to do it) you could insert a recommendation for your followers for doing what you did in the last post, to avoid "unreal" objects to be created. They will be grateful to you (as all the gimp-chatters).

Thank you so much Gimper for your detailed useful tutorials. I've learnt your technic and I like the results a lot. :clap :coolthup
I post in your thread two more results but adding a displace step. Dinasset pointed that possibility and I've tested it. :hi5, but still learning.

I really like the effects you got with the wooden images. Very pretty. I wish I had more play time!
