Thank you Lyle. You are very talented and have great ideas. You have contributed much to the forum and Gimp.

Issabella, lovely outcome. Do you ride a Harley? You also have a great talent and contribute to the forum. You have been a great help to me.

Brian, you are modest! But I am glad that you have the feeling of group efforts for this forum. That is part of what makes this forum better for me (and others) than many of them that do not appear to have interaction among the members. I hope that never changes!

Hey Brian; anyway possible to get your Flamboyance plugin to work with the new G'MIC? With the updated compiler that David's now doing, many things in G'MIC are literally running 10 times faster (no joke). Not sure if David will release adn update to the 1.7.9x series since he's about to update to the new version of G'MIC. Anyway, if you cannot, I do understand. :)

Lyle, do you know if the filters all in the download or do you need to be online with the new version? (complete download), or like past versions, do the update and
then have to find the address to download many of the filters (in one update)?

Brian, I enjoy your filter a lot as your filter give so good results. :)

Hey Brian; I literally just download the zip file and delete all previous files and put the knew files in the GMIC 2.0 directory. Your preset says it will only work with 1.7.9; when I removed GMIC (leaving 2.0 in), your plugin no longer works. :)

I was just wondering if you knew... I do not have internet (at home), when I update GMIC I usually have also download a 2nd file of Gmic filters. That normally happens transparently when you are connected. I looked for the filters update file for ver 2.0.0 and could not find it with the normal conventions.
I was expecting changes in new version that would not allow the scripts to run.

These are the error messages I get when I only have G'MIC 2.0.0 available, Brian. :)

It looks like the calls may have changed.
i'll search the forum to see if someone already knows
what to do!
Thanks Lyle.

Found a little information ---
If you can edit the script where it says plug-in-gmic
the name of the call becomes plug-in-gmic2 and it should work.
there are probably several calls...
I will try tonight to load the new version and make changes.
Thanks Lyle!

I can wait; look forward to when you can update your plugin, Brian. It will be a heck of a lot faster as well since many bugs have been resolved with samj's new environment. :)

Lyle..
It is easy to fix the calls, but I can't find many of the filters I use in the 2.00
Here is a very short list
Graphics Boost, Graphics Novel, Make Squiggly... I could go on...
again, without an active internet connection these filters may still be there,
but I can't see them.

How many filters are in your set? I have 375.
Are you missing the above 3?

Thanks for your help!

---- well, since I removed 1.7.9 from my computer last night, then found I did not have a backup,
when I went to get a new copy and the gmic.eu/update179.gmic ---
I realized that I had not used the correct file extension yesterday when looking for the 2.0.0
and tried again with gmic.eu/update200.gmic and found the update file.
So, will try again tonight. Most likely the missing filters will be in the update file!

They are still there, Brian; you do need to do an update, maybe. As you can see in the graphic, I have 482 presets so you are over 180 presets low. :)

Thank you Lyle!
This always happens with the new gmic version as my
home computer is not online and can't do the automatic
update.
You are right about the speed of many of the filters that
I played with. Just clicking down the list and the majority
of them show an instant preview! (lots of memory and
moderate overclock on 8 thread intel I7-4790K).
And yes, I like the search feature.
The only thing I don't like is when they use purple or red lettering
on the error messages. None of my monitors displays it well enough to read.
Like a contrast issue or something...

Well, apparently, just changing gmic to gmic2 is not enough, Brian (tried that). Some of the presets may have new parameters now. Oh well; hopefully you can download the preset file and add that to your non-online PC then figure out what needs to be tweaked. :)

The download worked as usual.
changed gmic to gmic2, and the -gimp to -fx and all seems to work
the commands that didn't start with -gimp didn't need a change
(like -cartoon)...
I took the presets out of this version, changed the 2x subject size to
2x process size unless process size is 0 for same as subject size.
Also replaced rodilius (sp) with fade/boost.
no time for better testing to see if all was the same as before so if you notice
changes please let me know.
Also, this version only works with GMIC 2.0.0 at this time.

Just downloaded it, but don't really have time now to play, Brian (my Monday; have to leave in a few). Will try to play when I get back this evening (but I will be tired, so we shall see). Thanks for the update. :)
