I had a problem with G'MIC not fitting on screen and me not being able to select anything off the bottom of the G'Mic screen. (eg. Ok, reset,cancel) I downloaded the file SF-Scrolling-InterfaceV1.1-For-GIMP-2.8.14-Win_x64.zip and installed script-fu.exe and script-fu-interface.c without a problem. The addition of the scrolling windows fixed the problem... for a while! Fast forward to this week and the error is back with a weird twist. I still have the scroll bar which allows me to access all of the options within the filter, but the options to activate the filter (the 'ok' button) is outside of the screen area and is not adjustable. I reinstalled G'Mic and both script-fu files. No Change. Out of desperation I reinstalled Gimp. Problem fixed... for one use. After using G'Mic one time, the problem is back. I'm at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe David can tell you something (or fix something), being a problem connected to G'MIC.

This sounds similar to a problem I was having for a long time. I'm on win7, and one day realized that I had set the screen settings to "medium 125%" for easier reading. Changed them back to default and my problem went away. That is except for I can't read anything anymore. Guess it is time to get glasses.

Yeah, I saw the thing about the screen settings at medium causing an issue, but I am at default settings. Also reinstalling everything fixed the problem momentarily. I figure it has to be something ultra-simple that I am just missing. At least I know [Alt] + "O" functions as clicking the Ok box.

Have you tried the pre-release 2.0.0 yet?
It will run alongside the 1.79 with no problem.
each will show in the filters menu and you select the one you want..

I haven't tried it, but I think I will.

I put in G'Mic pre-release 2.0.0 in, but only version 1.7.9 shows up.
I put the files into a folder named "gmic-cli-2.0.0_pre-win64" (the folder name in the zip)
and I put that folder in the ".gimp-2.8 folder right next to the "gmic-1.7.0-win64" folder. Any suggestions to fix this?

I manually went in to preferences and set the G'Mic 2.0 folder in the plug-ins folder list.
During start-up, an extra G'Mic box popped up.
The G'Mic folder shows up in recent documents (odd) and only G'Mic 1.7.9 is available.

I just copied all the files from the G'Mic 2.0.0 folder into the _gmic directory located in C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins and it overwrote about 10 files (I backed up _gmic first). Still no go. Restored _gmic from backup.

and downloaded an installable version for windows 64
it may have been this one.

took it home on a flashdrive
and ran the install.
Gmic 2.0.0 now ran (and still have 1.7.9) - but was missing many filters,
since I don't have internet at home where I use Gimp it couldn't update
I went back and downloaded the update from type
gmic.eu/update200.gmic in the browser search box.

The 10 files were .dll s and if you downloaded the same as I did, they
were all dated 03 10 17 -- I have been running older versions with
no error messages, though I moved the older dll's into a backup folder just in case.

and moved the update200.gmic to
c:usersMYUSERNAME%appdata%gmicupdate200.gmic
so both versions are working.
I run older versions, but I must remove the .exe file from
plugins (usually just rename it with the version number on it and remove .exe) and
put the version I want .exe into plugins (usually just remove the version number and
add .exe to the end).
I leave all the update173 update174 etc update200 files in the %appdata%gmic folder and it doesn't bother anything (I think each version looks for its own updateXXX file).

Thanks Muchly!! The self install of 2.0.0 worked awesomely! If I use 1.7.9, the buttons are still off the screen but 2.0.0 doesn't have the button\screen size issue.
