Thank you Sébastien.

David, in GIMP-G'MIC-QT win64, I can move sliders with arrow keys, but then nothing happens. They only work with mouse button in QT. (2.0.0_pre#170309)

Hi Sébastien Fourey.
Nothing for 32bit does not work.
For 32bit
http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/windows-deployment.html

We'll cover the plugins shortly, but first we'll check that the application will work in a deployed environment: Either copy the executable and the Qt DLLs to a machine that doesn't have Qt or any Qt applications installed, or if you want to test on the build machine, ensure that the machine doesn't have Qt in its environment.

Not really an issue; just an observation. The qt plugin isn't as fast to launch as the GTK plugin. During a GIMP session, if you launch it a second time it's faster to lauch but still slower than GTK plugin. Not really a game changer (talking less than 5 seconds) but just an observation. :)

The QT version from 3/10 will open on my win 7 64bit. It can't download update as there is no internet connection at my home.
I have the update200.gmic file in the correct location (ver 2.0.0 prerelease finds it) %appdata%\gmic\update200.gmic
The QT version says 'can not download update' and then opens with 0 filters.
Is there a way to tell it where to look for the update200.gmic file or do I have the update200.gmic in the wrong place?
Or is it a program issue?

Yes, that looks like a bug indeed. Should be fixed in the next pre-release :)
Thanks !

G'mic QT based pre-release (10/03/17)

After reinstalling GIMP and G'mic it works.

As for me there's a bug for the preview of the pencil portrait. It doesn't work if density is <0.10
For example if you choose 0.05 it will give "preview timeout" and will crushe the plug-in at the next bad preview.

This error do not appear for GTK version 2.00.

Hope it will help.

Thank you for the great plug-in G'mic it's a must have for Gimpers.

Hi everyone,

I've uploaded new binary packages including the G'MIC-Qt plug-in for Linux / Windows, that should fix some of the bugs you've already reported.
If you want to help, you are welcome to install this new pre-release version and tell us what you think !

http://gmic.eu/files/prerelease/
(dated 15th of March).

Thanks a lot !

Downloading now; wish they would give you a bigger pipe (i.e., download's slow). :)

Just tested both updated gtk and qt versions and they both appear to work fine, David. Thanks again. :)

To be honest I'm using a provider for personal web pages, with very low hosting costs per year (less than 100 euros I think).
So that's not so surprising :)

Ah; thought you were using your University to host G'MIC but, based on the simple name for G'MIC's site (i.e., no university name mentioned), I should have known better. lol

That's cool, David. All files downloaded fine and again, quite happy. Hopfully soon, you will officially release both (well, if you are going to stop the GTK version, at least QT) versions soon. I then hope there will be a simple 8bf plugin to call the QT version. How the QT version knows if it's talking to a high bit editor or 8-bit editor I suppose is in the engine itself. :)

All image data transfer are actually done using 32bits float values, so for instance if you have 16bits input image, it's just like you have a 0.5 precision
on your input data.

The 03-15 version finds the update file and works (win7 64bit)

My new trouble is that python script calls do not work.
I do not get any error messages, they just don't run.
The scripts will run to completion and produce output, but
no gmic effects are present.

pdb.gmic_qt_gimp200(newImage, lay1, 1,
"-v - -fx_Squiggly "+str(squiggleNoise)+","+str(segmentLength)+",4 ,0 , .7,0, 0 ,0 ,3,0.2,0.4, 12, 1,1,0")

pdb.gmic_qt_gimp200(newImage, lay1, 1,
'-v - -fx_Squiggly '+str(squiggleNoise)+','+str(segmentLength)+',4 ,0 , .7,0, 0 ,0 ,3,0.2,0.4, 12, 1,1,0')

Thank you for your time!

@animicule, I'm not sure the call of the Qt-plug-in from a script is already supported yet.
This is probably something we have in the TODO list !
