Another monday, another pre-release :)
I've just posted new binaries for pre-release 2.0.0_pre. Things are hopefully getting better and better.
I don't remember all the improvements done since my last post, but at least :
- Better dark theme
- Faves now stored in text files to make them portable from one computer to another (were using the registry on Windows, before).
- Better preview widget. Swap preview by clicking on right mouse button.
- 'Use native color dialog' setting available.
- Lot of new translated languages available for the interface (see picture below :)).

As usual, your feedback will be appreciated !

Downloading both gtk and qt versions now, David. Won't be able to test them really until I get back from work though (only have to work 6 hours today since company no longer pays overtime; worked 14 Sat and Sun). Thanks again for the updates. :)

Hi.
Good to know that you are porting the plugin to Qt :)

I downloaded "gmic_gimp_qt_linux64.zip" 20/03/2017. I copy "gmic_gimp_qt" to "~/.config/GIMP/2.9/plug-ins/", but then I can not find G'MIC in GIMP. I am using Kubuntu 14.04. What dependencies and Qt version should I have?

Refresh filters crashes the qt version and my favs that I had in qt version are no longer there. Not sure if I can copy my gkt favs to the qt favs or what the qt favs file name is. Any guidance, David? :)

edit

OK; figured out the faves and, except for a few of the presets in my favs) I could copy the gtk 2.0 version favs to the new qt 2.0 favs file and it worked. Still have errors when updating. Below's a screenshot of the error. :)

I suggest you do a $ ldd gmic_gimp_qt to see what library are missing to make it run properly.
Basically, what you need more than with the previous GTK-based plug-in is the bunch of Qt5 libraries.

@Lyle: Maybe the update is a temporary problem with the G'MIC server ? Could you try again ? How big is your update200.gmic file already on your disk ?

Tested one by one and I have all the libraries installed :(

Maybe this does not work because I'm using GIMP 2.9.5?

Update works fine for me Lyle.
Thanks for the update David. All seems to be working well on Windows 10 64 bit.GTK and Qt versions both.

Though i cannot see how to change to the dark theme? It isn't under settings. :ninja

Nope not in my settings. All i see are the internet update, and layout screens. Nothing in there about themes at all. Are you using Linux?

For 32bit Win XP (SP2) and Vista(SP1) it still does not work.

Probably too old systems for QT 5.8.
The method presented by Secretagent https://discuss.pixls.us/t/testing-qt-based-version-of-the-gmic-plug-in-for-gimp/3411/63 replacing on QT 5.7.1 works partially - run in Gimp 2.8.20 but:
- no icons,
- translation is not working.

I think that for 32bit systems you will need compilation from source with QT 5.6 or 5.7.
I will try to compile this file when source files for GMIC-QT are available.

Yup; now can update. Regardless, if update fails, it crashes G'MIC qt, David. That part may need to be further looked in to. Just glad it must have just been a server issue. :)

When you say 'it crashes', what do you mean precisely ?

Sorry for the belated reply; got called to do 7.5 hours of extra work (not going to turn down the pay). Anyway when I click OK after error, G'MIC just closes. Maybe not a crash, but not what I would have preferred to happen. :)
