Took me the better part of a decade, but I believe I finally cracked Lucisarts. All that experimenting in faking HDRs finally paid off (note; not the first time I tried to crack Lucis; just now finally have).

Unfortunately, Lucisarts priced themselves out of business, Pat. The programmer created a very unique (hence my thread) look that I've not seen duplicated. He was the buzz several years ago, but has gotten out of favor since the new owner of Lucisarts upped the anty (nearly order of magnitude) the cost of their plugin. Anyway, below's a simple image search using Lucisarts plugin (note, not all the images are Lucis, but I believe you can figure out which ones are).

You can get a very similar effect with g'mic Artistic -> Illustration Look.

Dinasset, just choose the top selection - direct download - and it will download directly
to you (as normal)....

Followed the instructions and got the program itself to work, but the plugin doesn't appear to work (at least not in XNView).

The plugin does appear to work in Irfanview, but the license key is invalid unfortunately.

Well this time, instead of typing in the key, I copy/pasted and to my surprise it worked. Still, I like my g'mic plugin flow better for the landscaped tried, but I'm very much a novice with lucis. Anyway, thanks for the link; all works.

I confirm: it works under Irfanview, but beware: only under Irfanview32, not Irfanview64.

(and not under Gimp/Pspi)

Use Irfanview 64-bit and it works in it as well, Diego.

about the standalone program: it installs, but I don't see the "effects" as shown under the .8bf plug-in, only (for me) strange effects/functions...

I tried first 64 (it's the one I had) without success, then installed 32 and it works.

The one thing I noticed with 64-bit Irfanview is, after you run a PS plugin, it appears like nothing happened until you get out of the plugin dialogue (press the exit). Then you see the result.
