i came in here disturbing the peaceful gc atmosphere by talking about my sims 2 paintings project, and i'm afraid i'm not finished with the topic yet, so brace yourselves . it's taken me ages (well, at least a couple of days' actual work with the software if you don't count the time i've spent trying to find updated and understandable tutorials) to finally get a working result and now that i have one i want to brag about it! here's one of my gimp paintings and one of erisian's framed and hung on the walls in a sims home. feels most ridiculously satisfying to see my sims stop and view them,since i know the artists personally...


come on, gc members, don't you wish that was your gimp art up there...?

I used to play sims 2 all the time, one day I'll buy it and play it again. I love how you put custom artwork on the wall! I used to make wallpapers and clothes for my sims. xD
Ohhh, fun story, I put myself singing and some country music I liked at the time in the folder for the radio to play. I told my sim to play me singing he turned it on then switched to Kenny Rodgers...that sim was like NOPE..Can't do it! XD

Thanks AnMal for your Sims artwork. I've never played the Sims but I've been thinking about animations in frames.
This is the first animation I have put onto a static background and I found you can apply perspective to a GIF.
Because it's a GIF the quality is poor but that's another issue. Cheers.

you gave me a bad idea now (well, it's a good idea really, just that i don't have time to do it, which makes it bad): making a custm sims tv channel using gimped animations. i'd make a hippie channel using colourful fractal animations (i'm useless at animations, but i'm sure erisian would do some awesome ones for me!) and a soundtrack of mixed sixties and seventies stuff. *slaps own cheek and tells self to get on and get the original project done first*

mokonafan: hi sister !!!! it's good to see you. yay, you played sims 2! hehe, i tried my brother's band's demo on my sims back when i first bought the game and they were the same - just switched to something else at once. i think sims are built to have a bad taste in music


and since you're all by now biting your nails in suspense waiting for the result of my gimp chat image stealing (yeah right...): there is no result yet. i had to clean up our real life hall and rearrange the furniture, then i had to sort up and arrange downloads folders so i could actually find the files i need - and then i had a little time over for chatting with my husband and eating and having tea. but i'm warning you: i will be back!!

You did a great job of the hall AnMal and I'm proud to see my painting hanging on your sims wall.

Yeah it's a bad idea, imagine the ads....maybe it's better not to imagine them.

issabella: thank you ! i've again been reminded that i should never think i am too stupid to learn - the software you need to make things for sims 2 was so much harder for me to understand than gimp, but i'm finally able to do simple things like these.
