G'mic 3-D extrusion animation

I made this animation in Gimp via G'mic 3-D extrusion and exported frames. I then imported the frames as an image sequence into Kdenlive and added a gold texture overlay. I should've made the extrusion deeper, but not too bad as it is I think...

I've made clips with Kdenlive and it works really well.
You could also export as AVI's from Gimp by using GAP if it's installed and then edit in Kdenlive.
I will try your method.

I was wondering how this guy Frank from BC got his revolving logo and your animation is very similar.

You'll need to rename the frame sequentially. Example: 001.png, 002.png, 003.png and so on.

The sole purpose to export to Kdenlive is so that I can apply a texture globally for all frames and modify at will. I can't figure out how to do that in Gimp. In Paint.NET you can put a layer on top and give it a "foreground" layer command and it will apply the overlay to all frame when exporting animated gif. The same applies to "background" layer command. Maybe there are similar layer commands for Gimp that I'm not aware of?

Thank's PhotoMaster. I found some script code posted by Rod that automates applying foreground and background. Works great for texture overlays or simple text as well as static backgrounds. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=15435&p=213599#p213599

It makes it easier to do something like this...

Though i need to tell you that code i pasted belongs to, and was written by Saulgoode. Haven't seen Saul around in a while come to think of it. Hope everything is okay with him.
