Hi Wallace - thanks

All except the butterfly in a bubble I just symmetrized them using G'MIC's 'deformations > symmetrize. Bugs are naturally symmetrical so its best to use off-centre ones.

For the butterfly I opened up the picture and ran deformation sphere using default settings.
I later used this filter on other pictures and found the 'border smoothness' slider will take out the 'join' in the sphere.
