I made this little signature I guess that is what you would call it with my new filter and plaid making skills. It is raining here in Minnesota the land of 10,000 lakes probably more now. I think Willy did too many rain dances.

Very Cool looking, are you going to use that as your signature now?
I love the Robin and the drop shadow on the text, although the birds could probably throw off a shadow too, or can I just not see the one they make.

Thanks Willy. I might use it, but I think I have to change the size first. No shadows on the birds but I can still add that. I was just thinking of doing something a bit different with the plaid letters no shadow but making stitches along the edge of the fabric similiar to quilting. I will play more this afternoon some.

I added a drop shadow on the birds. Idid a cross stitch type stitch on the L and a dashed line sewing stitch on the last A. I am leaning toward the cross stitch on the L I like it better just takes longer.

I don't think you can lost the Text's drop shadow and then give it to the birds, if you want to have the birds on the Text, then they both have to have a drop Shadow or no drop Shadow.

If you take the path from your text, then slinky it, and only stroke one of the two paths made, I think it makes a stitched like patern

Thanks O. I fixed up my first one and did a second one trying to make it look like it was sewn. I am thinking I may not have the filter Willy speaks of. I do have a spyro ( i believe that is what it is called) filter but that will not work for a seam. Maybe he will give us an example??

What you did to it makes it look like it was hand quilted using tiny x stitches. It sure makes your letters stand out and look puffy.

Oh bummer Akky.. Thanks for the compliments. I was really having difficulties with mine.

Not sure if the same concept would work for Mac but I used what is called 'note pad' just something to type on in Windows like Word but not as fancy. I am not sure how you save scripts and plug-ins in Mac but creating this file for GMIC is like that for me. When I went to save the filter I named it .gmic like everyone said to do and in the same folder as the .gmic_def.1483 (the number is the version of gmic I am using). Maybe give you something to chew on for ideas. I have no idea how Macs work myself.

I tried using the line styles in the stroke path dialog and the long dashed line looks pretty good for stitching.

I didn't bevel my letters but this gives you an idea of how to do it.

That looks great O. Mine looked pretty scary. They seem to blur I had it at the same setting as yours but I did smaller dashes maybe that is why? I will play some more too wet outside to work on anything for now.

See thats what I mean with Slinky Stitching,
if you have slinky, then just run it on your Text's path with 10 for Pitch and Width, then just stroke one of the two paths and you get that

@ Willy. That looks pretty cool. I will have to look for ofnuts filter. I do not think i have it at least I have not noticed a slinky filter yet.

I tried to use the stroke path with longer dashes it looks better anyways. So I did another one.
