Hello Gimp Users

I have gimp 2.8.22 install on my PC.
I like to install and test Gimp 2.9.6.

Can I Install both of the programs together?

I'm not entirely sure,
but I think you would need to have the installation files on a different drive/location,
other then what GIMP 2.8.22 is installed on.

You might be able to get away,
with installing GIMP 2.9.6 on the same drive.
Given the fact that it 's a 2.9 installation and not a 2.8.
A conflict that could arise,
would be with the User Profile.

To be on the safe side.
I would suggest putting the 2.9 installation files on a different location/drive.

GIMP 2.8 creates a profile named .gimp-2.8 and I'm guessing that GIMP 2.9,
would create a user profile named .gimp-2.9.
Which I'm thinking wouldn't create a user profile conflict.

When installing GIMP 2.9.6 select custom install.

However,
you might be better off installing a portable version instead.

Some of this has come up before.

You can install Gimp 2.9.6 in addition to Gimp 2.8.x

You do not need to install to a separate drive.

Gimp 2.9.6 does not share the Gimp 2.8.x profile. It creates a one of its own in ..appdata\roaming\
