Posting in linux... or not

I've found that not only can I not post to facebook in Linux, but i can't seem to post on any site. I can do anything but post. I've tried several browsers (firefox, chrome, konquerer, epiphnany, opera) no change. I considered my router, but it's the same router this computer and all my others are using, I considered maybe it was a bad jack on the router so I switched them, no change. I distinctly remember that the first time I installed mint I posted with it here and in FB so the problem MUST be something missing in Linux. Ah well, it's why i put linux on in the first place, to learn it and learn how to troubleshoot it.

Are you sure it's Linux? Perhaps it's your browser.

What do you lean by "cannot post"? You can access the site but cannot add to it? Is your Javascript enabled?

or access your Package Manager and download java (I personally got "IcedTea" plugin for my browser)

Log in the websites you want to post on.

No just kidding. It must be something wrong on your side. I can do anything in Mint.

Maybe back up your data and reinstall? It only takes half an hour.

well, I've tried several browsers, Firefox, Chrome. Epiphany, Konquerer, Opera. no noscript installed, no adblock, no greasemonkey, everything was a fresh install.

I've tried multiple fresh installs of Mint. Cookies are all enabled. I keep thinking it's a java thing. I didn't know I had to install it sererately, I'm doing
that now as I type this then I'll try again.

Well that 'test' wwas after I installed icedtea so that's progress. I've tried a few other sites, I can post to all of them except facebook, and that's very minor, so it looks like the icedtea helped. thanks

I can post on FB in chrome, and I have no problem using Chrome for me default browser in Linux. I have a ton of extensions in Firefox, one of them might be the culprit. I can sort that out in time.
